Description
This is a reproduction of my handmade map based on The Princess Bride. The original map, created by Lowell Hess many years ago, was drawn based on the novel, and not the film (there are key differences). I decided to modify it to fit the film better, and with the help of a good friend and artist Tony Pawli, made some fun additions and changes!
Some of these are:
- Shrieking Eels instead of Sharks
- Pit of Dispair instead of Zoo of Death
- Added the Sword Fight ruins atop the Cliffs of Insanity
- The “flag” of the Dread Pirate Roberts covering Prince Humperdinks seal (And also appearing as a tiny easter egg atop the mast of his ship)
This 16″x22″ giclée reproduction of my original deer leather map will comfortably fit in a 18″x24″ frame.
My giclée prints are available on two types of paper:
Heavyweight Enhanced Matte Paper which will appear textured, but is smooth to the touch. The deckled edges are ripped by hand and make the print feel more aged and unique.
Want something a little more special? You can also get the map printed on Heavier, Fine Art, Watercolor Paper which has a texture and feel similar to the buckskin original for an increased price. This version includes the hand-deckled edges as well as a personal embellishment of natural pigments painted on with a primitive bone paintbrush.
